A recent project to built two dragon puppets for the production of Munsch At Play by Tetrault Arts Productions. One full size head and neck on a backpack, with moving eyes and eyelids, twitching antennae, and wagging tongue. And a smaller rod puppet with flapping wings, to fly around stage. It was a great deal of fun!
Continue readingWell I just found this letter from the Premier of Ontario from 2014, telling us that we were nominated for this lovely award. So I would have to guess that we didn’t actually win in. But nice all the same.
The much loved story of Cinderella is reset in 1830’s Upper Canada, just as “Muddy” York is to be renamed Toronto, and where the very Canadian Cinderella is expected to cater to every whim of her recently immigrated stepmother and sisters. True to the classic fairy tale, with a little magic and some imaginative special effects our resourceful girl does get herself to the Ball, and to the satisfying conclusion of the play.

We are busy at work refurbishing the set and getting ready to tour Tea at the Palace to the Calgary International Children’s Festival for Shows on May 21 and 22 at the Epcor Centre for the Arts.
Fresh Ideas is an annual mini-conference and festival, showcasing artists taking new and ground-breaking directions in puppetry. It is a day of exciting innovations and explorations in puppetry, a stimulating event for everyone interested in current developments in the art form.
This inspiring event will take place Sunday, June 13, 2021.
